Leviticus 13:24-28

When someone has a burn on his skin and a reddish-white or white spot appears in the raw flesh of the burn...

Lev. 13:24 NIV

What may appear in a burn?

In this aliyah, it is mentioned that a tzaraat kind of infection may appear or may not appear in the place where the skin got a burn. If we compare the human skin with the soul we can say that the burn could be similar to an emotional damage due to something that happened to us. Due to an emotional burn it is easy to adopt a criticizing attitude towards our neighbour. It's easy to blame others for the damage we suffer and it's easy that bitterness that we can compare with the plague of tzaraat appears in the place where the "burn" in our soul was.

There are two options in this aliyah, the plague may or may not appear in the spot of the burn. Bitterness will appear in the soul of the unforgiving one, the one who will not leave justice in the hands of the Eternal. This bitterness will spread and cause a great harm, not only to him but to all those in his social circle. But if he is able to leave out all bitterness, he will remain clean and will be able to keep living a normal life.

Dear disciple of the Messiah: be very careful with bitterness. If you are tempted to react with bitterness, calm down and lock yourself up for a while. Think it over twice. Bitterness isn't positive for anyone. Forgive and let the Eternal judge. He does it better than we do.

Blessings,

Ketriel
